I want to make this but ever since the baby, my free time to cook has gone way down, but I will pin anyways in hopes to get to it.
Your photos are stunning btw, glad I found your blog!

Re: Big Red: Making Your Own Ketchup

Holy
Cow! You just combined all my favorite things! I am in trouble because I MUST
make this now. Thanks for this fantastic idea!

Re: Big Red: Making Your Own Ketchup

Thank you so much. I have long been wanting to make my own ketchup. I have heard about peeling the best away to peel tomatoes but the step by step photos really helped me a lot. I am ready to start making my own ketchup. So excited! Happy Birthday to your wife...=)

Re: Cook Dinner At Home (And Still Have A Life!)

That's a great tip. Usually when I'm making rice, I'll do a double batch and freeze some in ziplock bags for nights I need rice but don't have the hour to make it. I smell a post idea!

Re: Cook Dinner At Home (And Still Have A Life!)

Dave- that's a really good thought. A lot of what makes it a chore to make a great meal is how much time that has to be committed to hanging around in the kitchen watching everything. I want to bear this in mind as I keep figuring out ways to make that process smoother.

I also find it can help (if I think enough ahead) to use the time I DO spend over the stove to get multiple things done when possible. Maybe make something ahead of time for tomorrow's meal, or cook something up to freeze for later.

thanks for posting this... I like the thoughts.

Re: Weekly Plating Breakdown: Turkey Sloppy Joes And Coleslaw

It was! Good luck next week. If you're looking for recipes, I found an old "Italian Peasant" cookbook that seemed to have authentic recipes that were delicious.

Re: uncheffed party #1 – Naples and Campania

I plan on doing the same thing next week. I just saw this episode and thought the food looked amazing and what a great way to have the family over for an early supper. Came across your blog while searching for recipes. Great job.

Re: Learning More About Olive Oil

America's Test Kitchen Radio has a segment on olive oil, too, that covers some of the differences between non-US countries standards and US standards. http://www.americastestkitc...

Re: uncheffed party #1 – Naples and Campania

Wow, you need to come to Florida and do one of those "dinners". The food looks so wonderful and delecious. Lucky people who live close enough to make the trip, it certainly looked worth it. Thanks for sharing. PS, your wife can decorate for me anytime.
